MILLINGTON, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Two days after the Shelby County Schools board voted on closing nine schools before the 2014-15 academic year, controversy over the proposed rezoning plan continues.

Thursday evening the district held its second meeting of the week to discuss rezoning, this time in Millington at Woodstock Middle School. Parents who talked to FOX13 News were just as upset as the parents at Tuesday's school closing meeting.

They're worried about where their children will be going to school next year and the year after that.

Thursday's meeting was at Woodstock Middle, where parents from Woodstock, Lucy Elementary, Rivercrest Elementary, and Shadowlawn Middle schools were welcome.

SCS representatives went through a presentation, explaining the proposed zoning changes for 2014-15 and then took some questions from the crowd.

As you can imagine, disrupting school attendance zones is something parents find a little unsettling, and parents said they're still confused.

"A lot of us, when we moved to the county, I live in an unincorporated area, and we picked those homes due to the schools that were associated with those areas," said Alisha Kinsey, parent.

"We're going K-8, which is great but then what?," added Candace Johnson, parent. "Craigmont? That's the proposal. Our kids are not going to Craigmont. Why would they send Woodstock Middle kids to Bolton and Jeter kids to Craigmont?  It makes no sense. It's a joke. My kids are going to Millington."

A school board member from the Millington Municipal Schools district was at the meeting and told the crowd, he hoped families would consider sending their children to Millington next school year.

Again, it's important to point out, the proposed rezoning list is not final. The SCS board is expected to vote on rezoning in March. Additional community meetings before that vote, though will be announced soon
