A former employee accused either Stanton or his top aides of pressuring him and others to make political contributions.

The county attorney interviewed several witnesses, reviewed documents, and concluded no ethics violation of the county charter, ethics rules, or policy.

"I am pleased the Shelby County Ethics Office has ruled and concluded that I have 'not violated the Shelby County Charter, Shelby County Code of Ethics, or any other Shelby County Government policies or ordinances,'" Stanton said in an e-mail to FOX!3 News.

"I'm glad this matter has been resolved and I will continue to serve the citizens of Shelby County with integrity, transparency and efficiency."
