Illinois Man Casually Takes His Pet Tiger For A Walk

Posted: Updated:

John Basile was seen taking his pet tiger out for a brisk walk on Saturday afternoon, even taking it to a bar.

Wait, what? That's what everyone in town was thinking too.

"There were people in their cars shouting like, 'is that a tiger?'"recalled Frances Escoe, who saw the tiger that day.

Basile claims the tiger is his pet and didn't believe he was doing anything wrong. However:

"My concern was really for the people who frequent the downtown area. This was 7:30 at night on a Sunday, in an area that has a lot of people walking around," said Lockport Police Chief Terry Lemming.

Basile has been arrested for disorderly conduct, reckless conduct, and possession of a dangerous animal.
