NASHVILLE, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Controversy is brewing in Nashville over a student group at UT.

The group, Sexual Empowerment and Awareness at Tennessee is sponsoring its second annual "Sex Week".

According to the group's website, "Sex Week" is to foster an academically informed conversation about sex, sexuality and relationships.

The money for Sex Week came from student fee money, not tax dollars or tuition. Still, lawmakers in Nashville aren't happy. They voted yesterday to condemn the organizers of Sex Week by a vote of 69-17.

One lawmaker went so far as to say students could have Sex Week "in a field full of sheep" but shouldn't have it on campus.

This is our hot topic today: Should students be able to celebrate Sex Week on campus?

Here is what some of you are saying:

Amelia writes: "This shows how educated our college students are and that they want to improve on an area that a lot parents and schools failed to teach them and our ignorant law makers say no lets just continue to have uneducated pregnant teens. Our Law makers are so backwards."

Kelvin Hinton writes: "I don't agree with sex week. We are becoming a society that is consumed with stimulation. We have people dying in the streets from poverty, we have an unjust justice system, our food is being poisoned and the only cause these clowns can demonstrate is Sex? I really don't care about the issue."
