MULLICA TWP., N.J. -

An Atlantic County teacher's job is on the line after police say she found two 5-year-old children in her kindergarten classroom bathroom naked, claiming to have sex.

According to a Mullica Township police report, the incident happened on Sept. 30. The teacher reported the incident to her principal, who then involved police.

While authorities determined there was no crime committed, the Mullica Township Education Association says Kelly Mascio has been suspended with pay since the incident and her job is in question.

The community and the teacher's union are rallying in support of the tenured teacher.

"Ms. Mascio followed all correct channels correct protocol procedures and immediately reported the incident through the chain of command," said the Barbara Rheault, the education association's president. "We hope somehow this matter comes to full resolution so we can get back to the process of educating or children."

The school district superintendent also spoke with FOX 29, saying that she cannot comment on the ongoing investigation but hopefully the matter will be resolved within days.

FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce has more details in this video report.
