Mother & Child Walk In On Armed Robbery

Posted: Updated:

It was a scary moment for a mother and her child at a Massachusetts convenience store and it's all caught on camera.

Surveillance video capturing two men armed with handguns allegedly robbing this convenience store in Lawrence last week.

You can see the mother and child looking surprised and alarmed as they realized what they were walking in to.

Police say they were ordered to get down on the ground, the suspects got away with three hundred dollars and a pack of cigarettes, and no one was hurt.

Police arrested one of the suspects, 22-year-old Remys Fernando Lara on Wednesday.

"We observed a car that fit the description of the vehicle, attempted to pull it over the individual bails out of the vehicle. Short foot chase, he loses them. We lift a off one of the cigarette packs that he had taken, we were able to lift a print off of that and from there, we were able to get the arrest warrant. "Fitzpatrick said.

Lara has been charged with armed robbery while masked, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to commit a felony.

The second suspect is still at large. Police believe the two suspects may be connected with a dozen robberies in that area.
