(WJBK) -

Authorities are asking the public's help locating Johnny Honeycutt, 21, who has been missing since Feb. 11.

UPDATE FEB. 15: Authorities say Honeycutt was found dead in Harper Woods.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Department says Honeycutt went missing as he was returning home from a trip to Indiana visiting his father. Honeycutt lives in Lenox Township.

Around 1 p.m. that afternoon Honeycutt's mother received a text from her son, in which he said he had crossed the state border and was in Michigan. Approximately 30 minutes later the mother received another text from her son's phone, but the text appeared to have not been sent by her son. The text apparently was from a trucker saying the phone was found at a rest stop near the Coldwater exit in New Haven.

The mother asked the person to look for her son and his vehicle, but they were not found.

Honeycutt was driving a silver 2004 Dodge Neon.

If you have any information contact the Macomb Co. Sheriff's Dept.
