SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Incumbent Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell wants to continue serving citizens. Tuesday morning, the mayor filed his petition for re-election.

Four Democrats have also entered the race: County Commission Chairman James Harvey, Commissioner Steve Mulroy, former County Commissioner Deidre Malone, and former Memphis City Schools board member Dr. Kenneth Whalum, Jr.

The Republican and Democratic primary elections will be held on May 6. The general election will be held on August 7.
