The grant comes through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). This recent award is the third exceeding $300,000 the hospital has received in the last two months.

In December, $393,750 was given to help the research project regarding LC3-Associated Phagocytosis. A month later, $306,250 was donated for allergy, immunology, and transplantation research.

"This funding will be used to continue important research at St. Jude, one of the world's finest health care institutions," said Congressman Cohen.

The NINDS conducts and supports research to better understand, diagnose, treat, and prevent neurological disorders and strokes. For over 50 years, research funded by the NINDS has improved the quality of health for millions of people in the United States and around the world with Alzheimer's disease, brain tumors, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological disorders.
