MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam's approval rating appears to be slipping, according to a new Middle Tennessee State University poll.

The MTSU poll shows the Republican governor's approval rating drop from 61-percent to 47-percent since the spring of 2013.

The poll also showed the approval ratings for Republican U.S. Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker also declined by double digits.

Poll director Ken Blake says the decrease occurred primarily among the state's Democrats and political independents.

The poll was conducted in January. It surveyed 600 Tennessee adults.
