LIVE STREAM: Cass Tech QB Jayru Campbell facing assault charges

Prosecutors will announce the charging decision for Cass Tech High School football player Jayru Campbell Tuesday.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy will hold a news conference Tuesday at 2 p.m. to make the announcement.

Campbell, a 17-year-old junior, is accused of assaulting a school security guard in January.

According to online court documents obtained by FOX 2, prosecutors are expected to charge Campbell with assault with attempt to do great bodily harm less than murder and aggravated assault.

Video posted online (see above) claims to show Campbell body slamming the security guard as school let out on Jan. 22. A number of students captured the incident on cell phone cameras.

Campbell led Cass Tech to back-to-back Division 1 state championship in football in 2011 and 2012. He is a verbal commitment in Michigan State's 2015 recruiting class.

Rivals.com lists Campbell as a four-star recruit.
