BARTLETT, Tenn. (FOX13) -

A Bolton High School teacher and Memphis firefighter both pleaded not guilty to statutory rape charges during their first court appearance Monday in Shelby County General Sessions Court.

High school teacher Michael Lewis and his roommate, Bryan Wilson, a Memphis firefighter, were arrested Feb. 7.

Police say they were having sexual relationships with separate Bolton High School students.

Lewis has not yet hired an attorney but Wilson is being represented by the son of noted criminal attorney, Leslie Ballin.

Both are expected back in court later this month.

A Shelby County high school teacher and Memphis firefighter who are accused of having sex with two teenage girls are due in court this morning.

Michael Lewis, a Bolton High School teacher and coach, and the firefighter's name is Bryan Wilson; both men share a home in Bartlett.

Police say they had sex with separate 17-year-old Bolton High School students.

According to the affidavit, the teens spent the night at their home several times.

Investigators say Lewis also had sex with the student in his classroom.

Both face aggravated statutory rape charges.

Lewis is also facing charges of statutory rape by an authority figure.
