PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

Many people have tattoos they regret but for some it can have a devastating impact on their lives. One valley man says his face tattoos have caused him a lot of problems and that's why he's getting them removed. He's not alone a lot of people are choosing to get laser tattoo removal.

"I'm really trying to change my life... I got them when I was 15 years old," said William Rayburn. 21-year-old William Rayburn will be the first to tell you he's made a lot of mistakes in his life. Mistakes that landed him in jail for much of his teen years. But now he's getting his life back on track.

One way he's doing that is getting his face tattoos removed he got before going to jail. He's hoping to have them mostly gone before he starts classes in March.

"I can't get a job, it's hard to get a job now I just regret it," said William.

At Dr. Tattoff in Tempe they are seeing a lot more people coming in to get tattoos removed for a number of reasons.

"We see quite a lot of people coming in and they will find anyway they can because it's life changing for them in a lot of different ways, if they've had hardships in their lives and they have tattoos on their face, it's life-changing to remove a tattoo like that," said Holly Bennett with Dr. Tatoff.

The treatments aren't exactly pleasant especially in the tender areas around the eye. Saturdays treatment is one of five treatments that William will have to endure until the tattoos are completely faded away. A small price to pay, William says for erasing his past and putting his best foot forward towards the future. "A new chance at my life and better opportunities that will come to me... I just want to live a normal life that's it," said Rayburn.

The cost to get tattoos removed varies depending on the size of the tattoo but sessions begin at 98 dollars.
