PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

A taste of Spain comes to Cave Creek, but you don't need a knife and fork for this experience, you might want to bring your running shoes.

Would you pay for a bullish experience? Hundreds do every year at the annual Running of the Bulls in Cave Creek. Thrill seeker Wade Rochal ran shirtless at the Saturday event, "It's exhilarating, man it's a rush, it's a party... whatever happens, happens," he said.

Wade says it's not necessarily the 12 bulls you have to worry about it's the people, "Man it's crazy, I won the first one and the second one was a little bit messed up, some guy in an Elvis costume knocked me down," he said.

This is the third year, the event has been held in Cave Creek. Organizers say each year the event draws more runners and watchers.

"We expect over two days about 2-3,000 runners and about 7,500 to 10,000 people who watch," said Chuck Warren, an organizer of the event.

Those running with the bulls, pay 30 dollars per run, or you can get 3 runs for 50 dollars. If you'd rather watch the excitement from the fence, and many do, it's 20 dollars for adults. There's also live music and plenty of food to buy. The bulls are the biggest draw.

"The first person who ran this morning actually flew in from Detroit to come do this today," said Warren.

There is a cash prize for each run. Runners were asked to arrive at the arena early so they can signed in and sign a waiver just in case. "The way I look at it everybody dies not everybody really lives," said Rochal.

The Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center will be benefiting from the event. Organizers collected canned food for the food bank during the festival. Bringing in 25 cans of food allowed spectators to get in for free.
