FLORENCE, Ariz. -

An 8th grade student at an elementary school in Florence was found with a list of sorts on Thursday.

Florence Unified School District officials say the student had recently broken up with his girlfriend and was distraught.

He had allegedly threatened suicide in texts and when students saw them, they told the school.

Administrators then discovered that the student had a book called "Death Note" which discusses suicide.

Inside the book, school officials say the student had written a list of 10 to 12 students names and wrote that something bad would happen to them.

However, Florence Police Chief Daniel Hughes says he doesn't consider it a hit list.

He also said the student hasn't had any access to weapons and was put in a treatment facility by his parents.

No students were harmed.
