Multimedia Journalist, Reporter, FOX13's Good Morning Memphis Saturday
Alex Flores joined the FOX 13 news team from her hometown of El Paso, Texas. While she loved living and working there, she's a firm believer in traveling and experiencing new cities and cultures.
Alex always knew she wanted to be a journalist, and got her start early in high school working on the school's television program called "Knight Vision." It was then she got the opportunity to anchor Channel 1 network's student produced week. After that she was determined to attend the best journalism school in the country, USC, in Los Angeles. Go Trojans!! It was there she interned and worked at E News, Dateline NBC, Sony Studios, and KABC in Los Angeles.
She went on to earn a scholarship and graduated with honors from SC before getting her first reporting gig at a station in El Centro, California. While she loved her experience at USC, the best adventure of her college experience was living and studying in Bilbao, Spain for 1 year. She went there to work on her Spanish language skills, but soon realized that Texas Spanish was very different from Spain, Spanish.
Since then, she has worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Killeen, Texas. She was the only reporter on post when the deadliest military shooting on an U.S. American base took place in Fort Hood, Texas in November of 2009. She spent the day doing interviews and live hits from all around the world.
