NASHVILLE, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Who has the right to see what?

The city of Nashville is being sued by The Associated Press and The Tennessean.

Both claim they should be able to get the same records Nashville police got in the Vanderbilt rape case.

The reporters at The Tennessean say those records were created by parties outside government and should be made public under state law.

Four former football players are charged with raping an unconscious student in a dorm back in June.

According to the lawsuit reporters are looking for specific video surveillance, photographs and other records that Vanderbilt University heads turned over to police.

No one is asking for video records of the alleged attack.
