This Bargain Thursday, we feature a way to feed a family of four for less than $40 a week.

Discovering what's inside the Blessing Box every month can be a mouthwatering experience; things like chicken breast patties, hamburger patties, french fries, cookies and more.

For Synolve Craft it's a way to stretch the budget and keep her husband and two teenage sons full. But the best part, at least twelve pounds of meat, plus side dishes and veggies are only $39. Synolve told us that "We shop Aldi, Sam's, Walmart and Kroger and we could not beat the box. This box would have cost- same product and brands- $80."

"Hope for the Mid-South" is part of the national food distributor, Smart Choice Food. They buy in bulk for bigger savings. That's how we can buy a meat-filled box of food for about half the price you would pay in the grocery.

Ruth Crawford runs the Hope for the Mid-South host site at Colonial Park United Methodist Church. She says, "It's restaurant quality food, better than Angel Food was. My family eats it about every month. We love it."

People order online or by contacting the host site, pay in advance, and the food boxes are delivered on the last Saturday of the month.

The big Blessing Box is a staple but each month there are options. Like January's Super Bowl box, diabetic friendly meals and children's snack boxes. Anyone can take advantage of these deals but you have to order and pay in advance.

This month's deadline to order is Tuesday, Feb. 11. You can order online or contact the host site directly.
