NASHVILLE, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Legislation that would ban new health insurance exchanges established under President Barack Obama's signature law has been delayed.

Some state republicans want to delay the Affordable Care Act and come up with something new.

Lawmakers say delaying Obamacare right now would cost the state more than 6-billion dollars.

They plan to figure out why it would be so expensive and take up the issue again next week.

So far, more than 36-thousand Tennesseans have signed up for the federal health care coverage.
