Berlin, NJ Man Dies in Kingsessing Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia.

The incident happened early Sunday morning when12th District officers responded to gunshots 1200 block of S 57th Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 22 year old man on the sidewalk suffering from one gunshot wound to the head and multiple gunshot wounds to the back.

He was immediately transported to HUP by police where he was pronounced. Officials have identified the victim as Pierce Johnson from Berlin, NJ.

Police say a second shooting victim was located on the 5700 block of Hoffman Street suffering from gunshot wounds to the face and chest. The man is currently listed in critical condition at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
