MEMHPIS, Tenn. - The Grizzlies finished a home-and-home back-to-back against Houston with a statement, thumping the Rockets 99-81 at the Fed Ex Forum.
The Grizzlies took the lead in the first quarter and never let up, slowly extending their lead all the way to 27 in the fourth quarter.
Zach Randolph led the way for the Grizzlies, notching 15 points and 17 rebounds. The double-double tied Randolph with Pau Gasol for the most double-doubles in franchise history.
The Grizzlies bench showed up big on a night when they needed to give the starters a breather. Kosta Koufos stepped in after Marc Gasol picked up his second foul in the first quarter and scored eight points in the first half, 14 pointsa and seven rebounds overall. Nick Calathes had arguably his best game as a Grizzly, scoring a career-high 11 points to go with three steals.
The Grizzlies get a day off before traveling to Portland. The Blazers have the third best record in the Western Conference.
