Van donated to Detroit family with young girl on ventilators

Around Christmas, the community came together to make the holidays a little brighter for the Hoskins family, who were forced to relocate to a new home due to a lack of power and bed bugs. Donations continued to pour in for the family, and now a van was donated to help transport 2-year-old Shayla to her doctors appointments.

Shayla was born premature with Hydrocephalus, or having excess cerebrospinal fluid on her brain. Shayla just returned once again from the hospital on Thursday. Leaving the house is quite an ordeal for the family because of the amount of medical equipment that must go with her, which this van will now help in transporting.

Joe Kadaf saw the story and wanted to help.

"We have a large organization that does a lot of business in Detroit, Remax, and we just want to give back a little bit. So, we hope it really works out for you and the kids," Kadaf said to Nita Hoskins Friday, when delivering the car.

She came outside to take a look at her new car, and found a backseat full of presents for her children.

"Oh my goodness, thank you so much!" she says, hugging Kadaf.

"There are still good people out there. Oh my goodness, I am so, so thankful," Hoskins says.
