SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. (FOX13) -

FOX13 News has learned Rev. Kenneth Whalum, Jr. plans to run for Shelby County mayor.

Rev. Whalum, a former member of the Shelby County School board, pulled a petition Tuesday in order to get the necessary signatures to qualify. He lost the August 2012 election for the District Four seat.

James Harvey, the current chairman of the Shelby County Commission, also plans to run for county mayor. Harvey pulled his petition earlier Wednesday.
