King Center offers kids chance to "Choose Nonviolence"

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA, Ga. -

It's known to most people simply as The King Center. But there's an important message spelled out in the Atlanta institution's complete title: The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change.

Right now, the Center is urging local youth to Choose Nonviolence. In the days leading up to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, local students were invited to the campus to learn about Dr. King and his nonviolent approach to change. Local media personalities moderated the talks, which featured members of Dr. King's family speaking about the man and his work.

Click on the video above to hear some students from Ridgeview Charter School in Sandy Springs tell Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken what they learned during their day at The King Center.
