Super Bowl Boulevard invades Times Square

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Street closures have begun in preparation for the Super Bowl.  Crews are setting up ‘Super Bowl Boulevard’ for the big celebration.

The event will take place on Broadway between 34th & 47th Streets from Wednesday, January 29 - Saturday, February 1 between 12 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Spanning thirteen blocks, the Boulevard is the epicenter for all things football during the run-up to Super Bowl XLVIII.

SUPER BOWL VIRTUAL THEATER

Dates: January 29 - February 1
Time: 5PM nightly and run for 10 minutes every 30 minutes until 9:30PM
Location: Storefront of Macy's in Herald Square (34th Street & Broadway)
This spectacular video show on the façade of the famous Macy's storefront at Herald Square is a visual celebration of football. Shows will begin at 5PM nightly and run for 10 minutes every 30 minutes until 9:30PM. Rain, sleet or Hail Mary, this is the NFL like you've never seen it before!


NFL SHOP AT SUPER BOWL, MACY'S HERALD SQUARE

Dates: Sunday, Jan 17 - Monday, Feb 4
Time: 10AM - 10PM daily
Location: 4th floor of Macy's in Herald Square (34th Street & Broadway)
Come check out the largest NFL Shop at Super Bowl ever! It will have largest assortment of Super Bowl gear including exclusive merchandise, NY/NJ themed product, customizable merchandise, Homegating product, player signings, championship gear, and free giveaways. NFL RUSH ZONE and NFL PLAY 60

Time: Tented spaces will be open from 12PM - 10PM daily. The NFL PLAY 60 Field experience will be open from 12PM - 5PM daily.

Hey Kids! Step into the animated world of the NFL at the NFL RUSH ZONE Experience in a heated, tented space to learn more about the Guardians who protect the NFL and all 32 teams. Enter the RUSH ZONE! Get in the game with NFL PLAY 60 to show how you can stay active and healthy in any weather on the NFL PLAY 60 Field or explore our heated, tented space to find out how you can join the NFL PLAY 60 movement. For boys & girls ages 6-13.


AUTOGRAPH & CONCERT STAGE

Dates: January 29 - February 1
Time: Autographs: 12PM - 5PM daily; Concerts: 8PM daily
Location: Between 39th & 40th streets
From 12PM - 5PM daily, the autograph stage offers FREE autographs from some of your favorite NFL stars. At 8PM, the concert stage comes alive with some of the best talent New York has to offer. Throw on an extra layer, embrace the cold and enjoy the show. A list of all NFL players signing on the autograph stage will be made available by Monday, January 27th.

TOBOGGAN RUN

Dates: January 29 - February 1
Time: 12PM - 10PM
Location: Between 40th & 41st streets
At 60 feet tall and 180 feet long, this 8-lane Toboggan Run Engineered by GMC promises a winter memory for adults and kids alike. Tickets are $5 per ride and can be purchased at the ticket kiosks at Three Bryant Park Plaza or at the NFL Shop at Super Bowl in Macy's. All proceeds will benefit MillionTreesNYC. Ticket kiosks are open from 10am-9:30pm ET and are located at 3 Bryant Park Plaza at 41st street.

ROMAN NUMERALS

Location: Between 42nd and 43rd streets
The Super Bowl XLVIII Roman Numerals are the brightest lights on Broadway. At 20 feet tall, they serve as an iconic background and perfect photo opportunity for all NFL fans.

    John Lennon's killer was denied release from prison in his eighth appearance before a parole board, New York corrections officials said Friday. The decision on Mark David Chapman by a three-member board came after a hearing Wednesday, the state Department of Corrections said. Chapman fired five shots on Dec. 8, 1980, outside the Dakota apartment house where Lennon lived on Manhattan's Upper West Side, hitting the ex-Beatle four times.
