Vigil held for slain popular Atlanta DJ

ATLANTA -

Friends and family held a candlelight vigil in memory of a slain popular Atlanta disc jockey.

William Fernando Barnes, who went by the stage name "DJ Nando," was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in Morrow.

Barnes was an influential DJ at local adult entertainment clubs around Atlanta.

On Friday, candles glowed against the neon lights of Club Onyx, the strip club where Barnes made a name for himself.

"He was very well known, very renowned, not just in Atlanta -- the state of Georgia. He's been everywhere," said Dante Williams.

Relatives and loved ones said they're still in disbelief that someone would want Barnes dead.

"He had a fiancée who loved him and is going to miss him, and he was also a brother, and we don't want this to go unnoticed," Veronica Jones said.

Authorities are still looking for information regarding the murder. Organizers say $10,000 has been raised as a reward to help find Barnes' killer.

Friends say funeral arrangements for Barnes are still being arranged.
