Student stabbed near Tucson high school

TUCSON, Ariz. -

Tucson police say a high school student was stabbed during a fight after school hours near Pima Street and Palo Verde Boulevard.

Police were called to a parking lot near Catalina High School in reference to a large fight. When they arrived, there were no signs of a fight or any victims.

Shortly afterward, a hospital called police saying one of their patients told them he had been stabbed near the high school.

He had non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, who isn't a student, allegedly began an arranged fight with other boys who were possibly students at Catalina High.

Police say the suspect pulled out knives in both of his hands and then other men backed out.

The suspect then zeroed in on the victim and allegedly punched and stabbed him.

Witnesses say the victim wasn't involved in the fight.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5'5'' to 5'6'' tall, 130 to 150 pounds, in his late teens to early twenties,wearing a light grey shirt, grey jacket, blue jeans, white shoes, and a grey "Raiders" hat. He was last seen riding a bicycle southbound from the scene.
