Plastic Surgery Smartphone App Creates Controversy

Posted: Updated:

Encouraging young girls to become doctors is one thing, but an app that allows you to play as a plastic surgeon is pulled from the iTunes app store!

4,000 Twitter users protested the app called "Plastic Surgery and Plastic Doctor and Plastic Hospital for Barbie Version."

The game instructs girls, as young as nine to perform liposuction and make patients, quote, "slim and beautiful." Girls could use anesthetic, make incisions, and use a suction machine to take out fat.

The app description said, "This unfortunate girl has so much extra weight that no diet can help her."

Twitter users were enraged, calling the app sexist, and were appalled that it was targeted towards young girls.
