State of Emergency Ends; Cold Temperatures to Remain

The State of Tennessee Emergency Operations Center will stand down to Level IV - Elevated, effective at 4 P.M. on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. This terminates the State of Emergency for the Severe Winter Weather Storm.

CURRENT SITUATION

The precipitation associated with a strong arctic cold front has moved out of Tennessee and left record cold air. The bitterly cold temperatures are expected to remain in the state until Wednesday. It is extremely dangerous for people or pets to be outdoors for even a short period of amount of time.

There are unmet needs, no county requests or reports of life-safety issues.

No reports of problems on Interstates or widespread power outages.
