    WARMUP ON THE WAY

It was a beautiful holiday weekend with slightly cooler temepratures on Easter Sunday.  A cold night ahead with a Frost Advisory in effect for much of the area 12-8am Monday.  Temps range from the low/mid 30s in the suburbs to 40 in the city.

Despite a chilly start Monday it will warm well into the 60s, close to 70 in the city under sunny skies.  Even warmer Tuesday out ahead of our next cold front.

That front will bring some rain late day Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA -

We started the week dealing with sub-zero temperatures and record-breaking lows.

Now, as we head into the weekend, we're ending it with some freezing rain, and everyone this morning is slipping and sliding.

There have been lots of accidents outside, so be very careful when traveling to work this morning!

In Pine Hill, NJ, one person is dead after a vehicle hit a bus. Police are on scene investigating the crash.

New Jersey State Police say that the speed limit in this current severe weather condition is 35 degrees no matter what the signs say. Troopers are out watching your speed to prevent you from going too fast and posing a risk to other people.

The Delaware River Port Authority says "flash icing has caused slippery road conditions on all four DRPA bridges," adding that "motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution."

That includes ramps to Walt Whitman Bridge, which were closed earlier in both directions after several cars crashed in t he area.

PennDOT tells FOX 29 that most of the roads were pre-treated, but it's going to be a tough morning.

"Our crews are out...400 vehicles," said PennDOT's Brad Rudolph. With so much ice, be especially careful when on ramps, shoulders and overpasses. Try to delay your morning travel if possible.

The Philadelphia Streets Department talked to FOX 29 and said that this was worse than they expected. They are now playing catch up and bringing out the salt trucks.

"Our game plan is to bring as many salt trucks into the streets," said David J. Perry, the Streets Commissioner. They currently have about 50 trucks working to make the streets and Philly area safe for travel. Perry says that it will help that the temperatures will be above freezing soon. Jenn Fred is in Spring Garden as police are temporarily closing streets to let the Streets department clear the roads.

Many school districts have had buses pull over. In Voorhees, N.J., school buses were told pulled over to the side of the road after the district determined that it was too dangerous for buses to drive in these conditions. There are also reports that in Deptford, N.J., buses were canceled for the morning.

The roads weren't the only problem. Philadelphia International Airport issued two ground-stops Friday morning, one for icy conditions and then a second for low visibility. Air traffic is now moving again, however.

Because of the temperatures out there, our precipitation has been taking various forms. We are seeing snowflakes. And where you see pink on Ultimate Doppler HD Radar that is probably freezing rain.

Some areas picked up a 0.1-inch glaze of ice, while others far north and west of the city got an inch or two of snow.

A Freezing Rain Advisory has now been extended for much of the area until 1 p.m., and then a Winter Weather Advisory is up for an inch or so of snow in the Poconos until 3 p.m.

Tomorrow, we will deal with 1.5 to 2 inches of rain.

A Flood Watch is already posted for the entire region for Saturday.

Just before 6 a.m., we were right at the freezing mark in Philadelphia. We were below freezing to the north and seeing light snow fall.

In South Jersey, interior portions were seeing mixed precipitation, while shore points were getting rain.

Temperatures dipped a little farther before they rose. By 11 a.m., the city and most suburbs were climbing above 32 degrees.

Our high temperatures will eventually be in the 40s.

SLIDESHOW: Temperatures, Wind Chills & Gusts | FOX Future cast

By Saturday, we're talking rain and wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph throughout the afternoon and even higher by evening and into Sunday.

That's why both Friday and Saturday are "2's" on our "Forecast by the Numbers."

Even when we dry out on Sunday we are expecting quite a bit of wind. It will be pretty brisk.

We're back in the 50s on Monday and Tuesday, then back to seasonally-cold weather by Wednesday and Thursday – not that arctic, polar-vortex stuff, but it will get colder.
