South Carolina Woman Gets Ring Back After Six Years

Posted: Updated:

A South Carolina woman has her engagement ring back, six years after she lost it.

Leslie Tiller lost her engagement ring in the backseat of her husband's friend's car when he drove them to a wedding back in 2007.

That friend, Jacob Hickman still has the same car, and he recently took it to a repair shop to get some work done. To everyone's surprise, the mechanic found the ring under the backseat.

"Usually there's like loose change in there, maybe a dollar bill or something, but nothing like an engagement ring really," remarks Brandon Estell, the mechanic. "I was really hoping there'd be some sort of story like that."

Estell then put the ring into the car's cup holder.

"I was completely confused, but he said they found it during the service..." Jacob Hickman recalls. "Why on this earth would there be a diamond ring in my car?"

The woman says she is going to start wearing the original engagement ring and keep the other one for her kids.
