U-M student dies after tire smashes windshield along U.S. 23

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - A University of Michigan student has died after a tire flew off a trailer and smashed his windshield on U.S. 23 near Ann Arbor.

State police say Wooram Choi was southbound on U.S. 23 when a tire came off a trailer traveling in the northbound lanes. The trailer was hitched to a truck and carrying a snowmobile in Washtenaw County's Northfield Township.

Choi was pronounced dead at the scene Thursday. The 20-year-old was studying business at the university.
