An Alabama Salvation Army gets a generous donation.
Workers were shocked to find a dollar bill with a gold coin taped to it. There was also a note challenging others to match the generous donation.
The gold coin is said to be worth a thousand dollars.
"The exact value won't be known until we take the coin off and find out exactly when it was minted. But I'm told its worth up to fifteen-hundred dollars," said Major Mark Brown of the Salvation Army.
It will help a lot of people out this holiday season.
Gold coins have also been found in Salvation Army kettles in other states, including in Illinois, Washington and Oklahoma.
