1 killed in Auburn Hills house fire

Officials in Auburn Hills say one person died in a house fire on Oakmont Street.

James Manning, the Deputy Director of the Fire Department, says fire crews responded to reports of a house fire shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Crews arrived on scene minutes later to find flames coming out of multiple windows of the residence.

Lt. Ryan Gagnon of Auburn Hills police says a body was discovered inside the residence after the fire was put out. No positive identification of the body has been made at this time.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
