Several stolen items were discovered buried in the backyard of a Daytona Beach home, Volusia County deputies say.
Detectives were led to the home of Lyudmilla Prilutskaya on St. Augustine Rd. following an investigation into a series of burglaries. Deputies said Prilutskaya would ride along with her 15-year-old son, breaking into cars and flea market booths. They said the pair stole cash, electronics, sunglasses, even drug paraphernalia.
According to deputies, one witness said Prilutskaya would help her son determine what they would keep and what they would throw out, for fear of it being traced back to them like credit cards.
Sheriff's investigators are working with detectives in Port Orange, Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach. Dozens of officers were at the home on Thursday, removing items from the house and the yard.
Prilutskaya, 52, is facing three counts of burglary and one count each of grand theft, child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Her son has been charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft and one count of dealing in stolen property.
