Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest of the man suspected of beating a mentally disabled man at a gas station in Redford Township.

Recorded surveillance footage from Monday night at the gas station on Telegraph Road shows Jermaine Findley walk in and visit with the clerk, who usually gives him a cigarette. Jermaine steps out of the way so the clerk can help a customer who is paying for gas. You can see Jermaine and the customer never appear to speak.

The customer puts his money back in the wallet, takes one step toward the door, pivots and punches Jermaine who falls to the ground. Jermaine was then kicked and stomped on while he was lying on the floor.

Jermaine gathered with a crowd to peacefully protest in front of that gas station Wednesday afternoon.

"He hit me like that," says Jermaine, demonstrating how the attacker's fist impacted his head.

25-year-old Jermaine Findley talks about being attacked - an unprovoked, unwarranted and unbelievable assault on this special needs man who suffers from epilepsy, grand mal seizures. What happened to him Monday night at this marathon gas station - could have killed him...

"The pain - it just hurt all the way inside my ear," Jermaine says. "When he hit me I fell to the ground, and hit the ATM machine."

Look at the surveillance video from the Marathon on Telegraph in Redford. That's now gone viral since Fox 2 first showed it to you Tuesday night.

Here is Jermaine, in line waiting to buy his snacks Monday evening when this guy in front of him turns and takes aim, for no reason at all. Jermaine falls to the floor is kicked and then, get this - his attacker calmly walks outside and pumps his two dollars worth of gas. You can see a stunned Jermaine walk out a short time later.

"He was shaking. And then when he got in, I asked him what was wrong, he said 'I just got beat up.'"

This friend had driven Jermaine to the Marathon that night. He didn't see what happened but he saw Jermaine after he'd been attacked. The suspect had driven off in his maroon van, so Jermaine's friend went inside the gas station.

"I was like 'What happened?' He was like 'Guy just turned around and just started hitting him.'"

The gas station clerk says he was too stunned. He had not called the police, so they called Jermaine's mother who drove to the gas station and called 911.

"He showed me the tape and 'I was like - oh my god - oh my god.' A hit in the head could kill him. And then when I saw he walked out of the gas station and started pumping gas - that just took my breathe away right there," Tenicia Williams, Jermaine's mother, says.

Jermaine has since been to the doctor. He suffered a concussion. His mother is watching him closely. She worries about this sweet young man who lives with constant tremors from his epilepsy, and takes so much medication to prevent his life-threatening seizures. She never imagined she'd have to worry about something like this.

"He could have died that day. He could have. Thank God that God was with him to protect him."
