Shoppers Prepare For Cold Black Friday

Posted: Updated:
DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

Black Friday Shoppers will have a chilling experience going for those door buster savings deals this holiday weekend. A Nor'easter heading our way could not be coming at a worse time as thousands are preparing to go shopping for the year's biggest shopping event.

According to the National Retailer Association, an estimated 140 million people plan to shop in stores from Thursday to Sunday.

FOX 29 went to the Deptford Mall where customers are beginning to camp in line at Best Buy for deals on electronics.

Sumara Rembert has begun setting up her tent for the big day with her nephew. She says she and her family will take turns waiting in line for this year's big items including a 39-inch TV, laptop and a Kindle Fire.

Rembert says she is camping early because she missed out on a deal she wanted before. "Unfortunately, I had the experience of getting here too late and I wasn't able to get the big deal," Rembert said.

Some shoppers are avoiding the lines by getting deals on the Internet. Amazon and Walmart began pre-black Friday deals at the beginning of November. Amazon schedules different deals throughout the day, so as one deal as expires, another deal begins. Walmart is offering free shipping on items priced $50 or more, and you can generally select a "ship to store" option if you'd like to pick up your purchases from a local outlet.

If you don't want to wait in the cold this weekend, stores participating in Cyber Monday will also have deals.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
