Vandals target Mesa neighborhood; dozens of vehicles damaged

MESA, Ariz. -

It's not the way people in this Mesa neighborhood wanted to start the week. Vandals targeted cars, homes and even boats.

While most people were sleeping in this neighborhood near Southern and Dobson, some were causing thousands in damage with spray cans.

"This is a personal attack on good people," said Jennifer Black.

A personal attack that involved homes, boats, campers and trucks.

"I just woke up an done of my friends told me that it was graffiti all over and I was like, no way," said Mark Fraboni.  His mother's white mini-van was one of 15 vehicles or so that were targeted by vandals.

"I thought my friend was playing a sick joke on me.  They said, 'Dude, someone painted your mom's mini-van' and I was like no, it can't be true," he said.

But it was.  The owners of a camper were hit too.

"It's everywhere.. it's across in those houses right across the street from this complex there.. walls were tagged.. there's a vehicle about maybe three blocks down where their vehicle was tagged," said Black.

A motorcycle painted red, a boat, parked in a front yard and plenty of pickup owners woke up to a mess Monday morning.  Victims were using nail polish remover to take off what paint they can.  A frustrating start to the week for all of these people.

"My husband has lived here for at least 15 years and never seen anything like this," said Black.

Mesa Police do not have any suspects at this time.  Give them a call if you have any information about this case.
