Labs Encourage Struggling Actresses And Models To Donate Eggs

Posted: Updated:

Struggling young actresses in New York are taking on a new role: some are becoming egg donors.

Egg "agents" are targeting the city's models and actresses to donate their eggs.

The process works much like an audition, with the egg "agency" setting up health checks and interviews with different couples until one picks her. The background checks include not just health and disease, but also high school grades.

Many potential donors say that they do it for the money.

Some women earn as much as $20,000, and for an out of work actress, that's a lot of money.

However, some warn that donating an egg is very painful, and you have to take hormones for weeks to increase egg production.

The maximum number of times you can donate is six.
