BARTLETT, Tenn. (FOX13) -

A source very close to the schools lawsuit negotiations tells FOX13 News that the city of Bartlett has agreed in principal to a deal with Shelby County that would end the lawsuit over municipal schools for that city.

When this deal becomes official, Bartlett will be the third municipality to reach an amicable settlement with the county.

The cities of Arlington and Lakeland reached settlements Tuesday.

The county commission filed the lawsuit last year after six suburbs voted to break away from the newly unified Shelby County Schools system.

Millington, Collierville and Germantown have yet to reach a deal with the county, but FOX13 News also understands that Collierville could be the next municipality to come to an agreement.
