Surgeon Who Treated JFK Talks About His Final Moments
It was 50 years ago this week President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, and many people who were in Dallas that day are sharing their stories.
Dr. Robert McClelland is the last surviving surgeon who treated Kennedy.
He was in the emergency room when the president was brought in.
McClelland said he remembers how Jackie Kennedy stayed by her husband's side in his final moments.
"She then took a ring from her finger and put it on the President's finger and a ring from his finger and put it on her finger," McClelland said. "She stood by his foot for just a moment, and then she leaned over and kissed his bare foot and walked out of the room."
McClelland also treated Oswald, after he was shot by Jack Ruby.
