Local crime buff says he was duped by Zerilli's manuscript on Jimmy Hoffa whereabouts

It's the case that has captivated generations: the mysterious disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa from the Machus Red Fox restaurant in 1975. Two local crime buffs and future detectives weren't even alive yet, but they tell Fox 2's Amy Lange how they've been hooked on the Hoffa case for years.

Bryan Bogus's grandfather was a detective who actually worked the case. Nick Thiry's grandpa was also a detective, so you could say detective work runs in their blood.

When news came out about mob underboss Anthony Zerilli's manuscript, they wanted it. Especially since the FBI was digging for Hoffa's body in Oakland Township over the summer based on a tip from Zerilli.

The body wasn't there, but Bogus went online to the website hoffafound.com and order his autographed Zerilli manuscript in July. He paid thirty dollars for it, but has yet to receive it.

"I thought I would get it within a week. So after about a month I grew eager, so I started giving calls," Bogus tells Fox 2's Amy Lange.

Bogus was told the manuscript was on it's way but now, four months later, still nothing, and the website links to an old gun auction.

"Another victim of the mob! And he's 85 years old; are they still doing these scams? You know, it's just, it's ridiculous to me. I can't believe it," Bogus says.

Fox 2 contacted an attorney and another Zerilli representative. It's not clear why Bogus never received his manuscript or why the website was taken down, but they promised to send the autographed copy and include an autographed photo of Zerilli.
