CAMP VERDE, Ariz. -

A driver is dead after he rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Highway 260 near Camp Verde.

Authorities say a Toyota sedan collided with the back of a tractor-trailer near a Wendy's restaurant on Highway 260 on Saturday night.

Both the passenger, 36-year-old Daniel Thornburg, and the driver, 37-year-old Charles M. Zunitch, in the sedan had be extracted.

Thornburg was flown to John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix, but Zunitch was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn't injured.

According to authorities, they don't believe either driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
