Beyond face paint and the outfit some people will go all out this Halloween and wear costume contacts.

Those cat-eye contacts may make your costume, but you might be putting your eyes and vision at risk.

Costume contacts are especially popular this time of year. They come in all sorts of designs and colors. And while they are easy to find online and relatively cheap the Food and Drug Administration warns they can be dangerous.

Contact lenses are regulated by the FDA as "medical devices" and therefore cannot be sold for any purpose without a prescription from an eye doctor.
