NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A professor at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, faces felony sex charges in connection with an incident involving a Westchester child.

New York State Police say that Paul S. Hines, 73, after communicating with the 15-year-old via the internet, met with the teen at their Somers, N.Y., home and engaged in sexual contact. Police did not release any information about the child to protect their identity.

Police arrested Hines on Monday. He also faces a charge of endangering the welfare of a child as a result of the investigation.

Hines was arraigned in Somers and was sent to the Westchester County Jail with no bail opportunity.

Officials at Western Connecticut said they were aware of the arrest but had no further comment. Hines is listed as a chemistry professor on the school's website.
