Dog owners won't face criminal charges in Henry County attack

Posted: Updated:
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -

Some Henry County dog owners won't be charged with a crime in a vicious attack that left a woman severely injured.

Animal control officials will now determine if any local ordinances were broken.

Maria Matta was walking her own dogs through the Windsong Plantation subdivision last week when two pit bulls attacked.

Police were forced to shoot the animals to get them off of Matta and her pets.

Matta was airlifted to the hospital where she is recovering from surgery.
