DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

When it comes to professional sports, a seat at a Memphis Grizzlies game at FedExForum is considered on of the most affordable.

Season tickets to the Grizzlies' 2013-14 season, which tips off Wednesday, start at just $11 per game.

As the sign was hoisted from ESPN Magazine honoring the Grizzlies as the top franchise in sports, folks were already lining up outside of the FedExForum to celebrate the beginning of a new season.

"My kids brought me to a game 10 years ago and I enjoyed it," said Ivy Smith, Grizzlies season ticket holder. "I've been a season ticket holder ever since."

Smith said it only takes one game for someone to support this team.

"You get a chance to meet the players, you get a chance to support St. Jude, it's a great event for the city," said Kelly Price, Grizzlies season ticket holder.  "I love to come out every year."

"It means more than just enjoying the game," Smith added. "It's all about the children and finding a cure for cancer."

The Grizzlies partnered with St. Jude with a meet and greet luncheon Monday at FedExForum. All of the proceeds from the tip-off luncheon will go to the hospital.

One fan says it's event like this one, which makes fans feel like this team is so accessible.

Grizzlies season ticket holder Chip Strange said it's events like Monday's luncheon which makes fans feel this team is so accessible.

"This is a blue collar city, this team represents that really well," Strange said. "I think that's why the Grizz were reported as one of the best American franchises in North American sports."

The Grizzlies also want all of their fans to have a chance to see a game, which is why a season ticket starts at just $11 per game as compared to seeing the Los Angeles Lakers. A nose- bleed ticket to a Lakers home game starts at $53.

Grizzlies CEO Jason Levien said his team is supported by big dollar seats, but the cheap seats as well. It's not the organization, but the players who want fans to know they want the support of everyone in the community, Levien added.

"We have players on the team who are committed to the community who call Memphis home," Levien said.  "We've been embraced by the community and really embrace the community, so we want to do more and more. We're only 13 years into this relationship with Memphis, this love affair, and we want to continue that."

For fans who want to support the Grizzlies during their 2013-14 campaign and buy 11-game or 20-game season ticket packages, you can call 901-888-HOOP or you can go online to Grizzlies.com.

Twenty game season ticket packages start at $12 per game and 11-game packages start as low as $14 per game.
