A 25-year-old man is
facing child abuse charges after battering and spraying a 6-month-old baby with
Windex, deputies said.
The Sarasota County
Sheriff's Office says Christopher Rounds may have been on the synthetic
marijuana K2 when it happened.
The mother told
deputies Rounds had been smoking it earlier in the day, and a witness said he
had been drinking and had anxiety attacks over caring for the infant.
On Sunday morning, the
baby's mother and witness said they woke up to find the baby with cuts on her
face. They also said the crib had been moved to the living room, and deputies
say the girl was "covered in Windex."
They said Rounds was
the only one awake at the time.
Rounds also faces
disorderly conduct charges for threatening deputies and two neighbors when they
contacted him about the incident.
