MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

It will be many months before the National Transportation Safety Board determines the reason for Tuesday's deadly medical helicopter crash near Somerville, Tenn..

The Hospital Wing was en route to pick up a sick child in Bolivar when it went down Tuesday morning near the Fayette County Airport. Pilot Charles Smith, Pedi-Flite registered nurse Carrie Barlow, and Pedi-Flite respiratory therapist Denise Adams all died in the crash.

While we wait for the cause of the accident, the Smith family is hoping for a little help as they search for a way to move on. A college fund has been set up for Smith's young sons.

In lieu of flowers, friends of the family are asking that you instead go by any Regions Bank branch and make a donation to the fund.

As well, Le Bonheur Hospital will host a Celebration of Remembrance for Adams, Barlow and Smith on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at Hope Presbyterian Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Road, in Cordova, Tenn.

Funds have been established for each of the three families. The hospital said checks can be made payable to the Le Bonheur Foundation in either of the three victim's names, P.O. Box 41817, Memphis, Tenn., 38174. You can also donate to the Pedi-Flite/Hospital Wing Help Fund online via this secure Le Bonheur website.
