The President of the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce has resigned.
John Moore has led the Chamber since 2005. He announced his resignation to the board Thursday. He will leave the post January 3rd.
Moore previously served as a Senior Executive to Northwest Airlines.
Chamber Chairman Larry Cox released a statement about Moore's departure:"Under John's exemplary leadership, the Greater Memphis Chamber has been recognized as one of the best chambers in the country and an economic development powerhouse. Economic development is like a relay race in perpetuity. The baton is continuously passed from one leader to the next. We have accomplished a great deal for Greater Memphis over the years and now is the right time to identify the next leader for the chamber."
